ACCORDING to Bruce Lennox (Chairman Glenvista CPF), there seems to be confusion about whether you have to stop if you are approached by vehicles with blue lights.
After Karen Landi was stopped on the R82 Walkerville Road on September 27 at about 7pm, there have also been other frightening incidents.
“A lady driving on the R59 was stopped by a vehicle with blue lights and also attacked and I am awaiting further info on that incident.
“A Brackenhurst resident on his way home from picking up his daughters in Glenvista was stopped by a vehicle with blue lights in Allen Road Glenvista and the policemen asked him about where he was going and if he had been drinking etc, While they appeared to be genuine policemen he was concerned as to whether he should stop or drive off and risk action being taken against him for not stopping. This is a cause of concern which requires clarity from SAPS,” said Lennox.
