MULBARTON Primary School celebrated its Nelson Mandela Centenary Garden on September 6, with sponsors Gauteng Realtors joining staff and children at the school for the ribbon cutting.
“It is with great excitement we officially open our Nelson Mandela Centenary Garden to be enjoyed by our learners and staff in our school,” said principal Lawrence Kistadoo.
The youngsters were taken to the edge of the garden for the photo shoot and the rules of visiting the garden were carefully explained to them.
“No walking on the grass until it’s growing nicely, which should happen after our first few showers of rain,” explained Kistadoo.
“Thereafter you are welcome to come and see the gardens and how well they are hopefully growing.”
He went on to add, “A big thank you to Gauteng Realtors for all your generous donations in making this garden a reality.”
Staff from Gauteng Realtors were very proud to see the finished gardens.
“It looks fantastic,” said Kishal and Desiree Singh, “and we are very honoured to have been able to donate plants, rocks and shrubs.”
